How it works

  1. Select one PDF or supported image in Google Drive™ for a single-file tool; select 2–10 compatible files for Merge or Batch Translate.
  2. Open DeftPDF PDF Tools from the Google Drive™ side panel, or choose Open with → DeftPDF from the file menu, then choose an available tool.
  3. Grant access only to the selected files. DeftPDF does not request access to all files in your Drive.
  4. Review the imported files and tool settings in DeftPDF, process them, and download the result.
Temporary Google Workspace™ imports use a short-lived handoff link and are scheduled for automatic deletion after 3 hours. Google Drive™ access uses the granular drive.file permission for files you explicitly select. Results download from DeftPDF and are not written back to Drive™ automatically. Chat & Summarize requires separate affirmative consent before the selected PDF is sent to OpenAI. Successful chat creation promotes the temporary import to an authenticated saved source; that source, conversation, and supporting retrieval resources remain while the saved chat exists. After the final related chat is deleted, the source is scheduled for deletion and unreferenced retrieval resources enter daily cleanup after a 30-day inactivity cache expires. For Batch Translate, the 3-hour limit applies before confirmation or payment; an initiated batch keeps its sources and results for up to 24 hours to complete delivery, with automatic refunds for unfinished paid items at expiry.
